Ryzen 3 3300U vs Xeon E5-2470 v2 benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon E5-2470 v2 performs better than the Ryzen 3 3300U. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 3300U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon E5-2470 v2 has significantly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Ryzen 3 3300U that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 3300U. Our comparison shows that the Xeon E5-2470 v2 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 3300U. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 3300U has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 3300U CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2470 v2 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 3 3300U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
