Ryzen 3 3300U vs Xeon E5-1650 comparison
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-1650 beats the Ryzen 3 3300U in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 3300U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon E5-1650 has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Ryzen 3 3300U that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 3300U. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon E5-1650 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 3300U. Also, the Xeon E5-1650 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 3300U CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-1650 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 3300U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
