Ryzen 3 3300U vs Xeon E3-1220 v5 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E3-1220 v5 beats the Ryzen 3 3300U in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 3300U in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E3-1220 v5 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 3 3300U. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 3300U CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E3-1220 v5 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 3 3300U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon E3-1220 v5. Despite this, the Xeon E3-1220 v5 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 3300U.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 3300U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
