Ryzen 3 3300U vs FX-8120 benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 3 3300U performs better than the FX-8120. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-8120 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the FX-8120 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-8120 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 3 3300U. A Ryzen 3 3300U CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8120 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the FX-8120 has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 3300U. The FX-8120 also has significantly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Ryzen 3 3300U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
