Ryzen 3 3300U vs Core i9-12900T comparison
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i9-12900T performs better than the Ryzen 3 3300U. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 3300U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i9-12900T has significantly more cores with 16 cores compared to the Ryzen 3 3300U that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 3300U. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 3300U has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i9-12900T. Despite this, the Core i9-12900T has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 3300U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i9-12900T CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i9-12900T has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 3300U. The Core i9-12900T also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 3300U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
