Ryzen 3 3300U vs Core i7-7700HQ specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-7700HQ is faster than the Ryzen 3 3300U. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 3300U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Core i7-7700HQ has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-7700HQ has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 3300U. Also, the Core i7-7700HQ has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 3300U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-7700HQ CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Ryzen 3 3300U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
