Ryzen 3 3300U vs Core i7-5700HQ specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-5700HQ is faster than the Ryzen 3 3300U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 3300U in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Core i7-5700HQ has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-5700HQ has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 3300U. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 3300U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-5700HQ CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 3 3300U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-5700HQ. Despite this, the Core i7-5700HQ has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 3300U.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 3 3300U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
