Ryzen 3 3300U vs Core i7-4710HQ specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 3 3300U is faster than the Core i7-4710HQ. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-4710HQ in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Core i7-4710HQ has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-4710HQ has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 3300U. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 3300U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-4710HQ CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 3300U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
