Ryzen 3 3300U vs Core i5-7500 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-7500 is faster than the Ryzen 3 3300U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 3300U in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-7500 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 3300U. Also, the Core i5-7500 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 3300U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-7500 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 3300U has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-7500. Despite this, the Core i5-7500 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 3300U.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 3300U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
