Ryzen 3 3200U vs Pentium G4520 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 3 3200U is faster than the Pentium G4520. Despite this, the Pentium G4520 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Ryzen 3 3200U has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Pentium G4520 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 3200U. A Ryzen 3 3200U CPU outputs less heat than a Pentium G4520 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 3 3200U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Pentium G4520. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 3200U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
