Ryzen 3 3200G vs Ryzen 7 PRO 3700U specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 PRO 3700U performs better than the Ryzen 3 3200G. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 3200G has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen 7 PRO 3700U has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 3200G has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 PRO 3700U. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. The Ryzen 7 PRO 3700U outputs less heat than Ryzen 3 3200G thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches and L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 3200G has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
