Ryzen 3 3200G vs Ryzen 7 3700X comparison
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 3700X beats the Ryzen 3 3200G in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 3200G in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 7 3700X has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 3 3200G. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 3700X has 8 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 3 3200G. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 3200G. Both the Ryzen 3 3200G and Ryzen 7 3700X have the same clock speed. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 3700X has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 7 3700X has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 3200G. The Ryzen 7 3700X also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 3200G has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
