Ryzen 3 3200G vs Core i7-8850H comparison
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-8850H beats the Ryzen 3 3200G in overall performance. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 3200G has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-8850H has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 3 3200G. Indeed, the Core i7-8850H has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 3 3200G. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 3200G. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 3200G has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-8850H. The Core i7-8850H outputs less heat than Ryzen 3 3200G thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 3 3200G has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-8850H. Despite this, the Core i7-8850H has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 3200G.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 3 3200G has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
