Ryzen 3 3200G vs Core i7-8650U comparison

In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 3 3200G beats the Core i7-8650U in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-8650U in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Core i7-8650U has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 3200G has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-8650U. The Core i7-8650U outputs less heat than Ryzen 3 3200G thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 3 3200G has more L2 cache than the Core i7-8650U. Despite this, the Core i7-8650U has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 3200G.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 3200G has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
