Ryzen 3 3200G vs Core i5-12400F specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-12400F performs better than the Ryzen 3 3200G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 3200G in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-12400F has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Ryzen 3 3200G has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 3200G. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 3200G has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-12400F. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 3200G has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
