Ryzen 3 3200G vs Core 5 120U comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 3 3200G is faster than the Core 5 120U. Despite this, the Core 5 120U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core 5 120U has significantly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Ryzen 3 3200G has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 3200G. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 3200G has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core 5 120U. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core 5 120U has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 3200G. The Core 5 120U also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 3200G has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
