Ryzen 3 3100 vs Ryzen 5 3400G specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 3 3100 performs better than the Ryzen 5 3400G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 3400G in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 3400G has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 3100. Also, the Ryzen 5 3400G has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 3 3100 also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 3100 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
