Ryzen 3 3100 vs FX-8320E benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 3 3100 is faster than the FX-8320E. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-8320E in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 3100 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the FX-8320E. A Ryzen 3 3100 CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8320E CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 3 3100 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 3100 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
