Ryzen 3 3100 vs Core i7-10700 comparison

In our benchmarks, the Core i7-10700 beats the Ryzen 3 3100 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 3100 in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-10700 has significantly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Ryzen 3 3100 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 3100. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 3100 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-10700. Despite this, the Core i7-10700 has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache and L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 3100 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
