Ryzen 3 3100 vs Core i5-10400F specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-10400F is faster than the Ryzen 3 3100. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 3100 in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-10400F has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 3 3100. Indeed, the Core i5-10400F has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 3 3100. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 3100. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 3100 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-10400F. Despite this, the Core i5-10400F has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 3 3100 has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-10400F. The Ryzen 3 3100 also has slightly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 3100 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
