Ryzen 3 2300X vs Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 3 2300X is faster than the Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 3 2300X has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U. Also, the Ryzen 3 2300X has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U outputs less heat than Ryzen 3 2300X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 3 2300X also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2300X has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
