Ryzen 3 2300X vs Core i7-8705G benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 3 2300X beats the Core i7-8705G in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-8705G in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Core i7-8705G has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 3 2300X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-8705G. Also, the Ryzen 3 2300X has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 3 2300X has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-8705G. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2300X has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
