Ryzen 3 2300X vs Core i5-7400T specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 3 2300X is faster than the Core i5-7400T. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-7400T in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 2300X has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-7400T. Also, the Ryzen 3 2300X has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-7400T outputs less heat than Ryzen 3 2300X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 2300X has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-7400T. The Ryzen 3 2300X also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2300X has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
