Ryzen 3 2300U vs Ryzen 7 3700U comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 3700U performs better than the Ryzen 3 2300U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 2300U in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen 7 3700U has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 3700U has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 3 2300U. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache and L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones.
