Ryzen 3 2300U vs Ryzen 7 2700U specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 2700U performs better than the Ryzen 3 2300U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 2300U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen 7 2700U has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 7 2700U has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 2300U. Also, the Ryzen 7 2700U has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache and L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2300U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
