Ryzen 3 2300U vs Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U performs better than the Ryzen 3 2300U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 2300U in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 2300U. Also, the Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches and L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2300U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
