Ryzen 3 2300U vs Ryzen 5 1400 comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 1400 performs better than the Ryzen 3 2300U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 2300U in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Ryzen 5 1400 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 1400 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 3 2300U. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 2300U CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 5 1400 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 5 1400 also has significantly more L3 cache.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2300U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
