Ryzen 3 2300U vs Ryzen 3 3200U comparison
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 3 2300U beats the Ryzen 3 3200U in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 3200U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 3 2300U has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Ryzen 3 3200U that has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 3 3200U has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 2300U. Also, the Ryzen 3 3200U has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 3 2300U has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 3200U. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2300U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
