Ryzen 3 2300U vs Core i7-8850H specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-8850H beats the Ryzen 3 2300U in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 2300U in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-8850H has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Ryzen 3 2300U has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 2300U. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-8850H has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 3 2300U. Also, the Core i7-8850H has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 2300U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-8850H CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 3 2300U has more L2 cache than the Core i7-8850H. Despite this, the Core i7-8850H has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 2300U.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2300U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
