Ryzen 3 2300U vs Core i5-6600K specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-6600K is faster than the Ryzen 3 2300U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 2300U in all gaming tests too.

Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-6600K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 3 2300U. Also, the Core i5-6600K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 2300U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-6600K CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 2300U has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-6600K. Despite this, the Core i5-6600K has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 2300U.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2300U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
