Ryzen 3 2200U vs FX-4300 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the FX-4300 beats the Ryzen 3 2200U in overall performance. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 2200U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the FX-4300 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 2200U. Also, the FX-4300 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 2200U CPU outputs less heat than a FX-4300 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the FX-4300 has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 2200U. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 2200U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
