Ryzen 3 2200U vs Core i5-4200H specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 3 2200U beats the Core i5-4200H in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-4200H has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-4200H has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 3 2200U. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. A Ryzen 3 2200U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-4200H CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 2200U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
