Ryzen 3 2200U vs Celeron J6412 specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Celeron J6412 performs better than the Ryzen 3 2200U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 2200U in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Celeron J6412 has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 3 2200U. Indeed, the Celeron J6412 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Ryzen 3 2200U. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 2200U has a slightly higher clock speed than the Celeron J6412. The Celeron J6412 outputs less heat than Ryzen 3 2200U thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Celeron J6412 has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 2200U. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 2200U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
