Ryzen 3 2200G vs Xeon Gold 6226R benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 3 2200G is faster than the Xeon Gold 6226R. Despite this, the Xeon Gold 6226R has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon Gold 6226R has significantly more cores with 16 cores compared to the Ryzen 3 2200G that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 2200G. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 3 2200G has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon Gold 6226R. Despite this, the Xeon Gold 6226R has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 2200G CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon Gold 6226R CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2200G has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
