Ryzen 3 2200G vs Ryzen 9 6900HS benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 9 6900HS beats the Ryzen 3 2200G in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 2200G in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 9 6900HS has significantly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Ryzen 3 2200G has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 2200G. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 2200G has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 9 6900HS. Despite this, the Ryzen 9 6900HS has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 9 6900HS outputs less heat than Ryzen 3 2200G thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 6900HS has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 2200G. The Ryzen 9 6900HS also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2200G has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
