Ryzen 3 2200G vs Ryzen 7 5800X specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 5800X performs better than the Ryzen 3 2200G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 2200G in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 5800X has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 3 2200G that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 2200G. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 5800X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 3 2200G. Also, the Ryzen 7 5800X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 2200G CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 5800X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800X has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 2200G. The Ryzen 7 5800X also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2200G has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
