Ryzen 3 2200G vs Ryzen 7 5800 comparison
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 3 2200G beats the Ryzen 7 5800 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 5800 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 7 5800 has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 3 2200G. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800 has 8 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 3 2200G. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 2200G. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 3 2200G has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 5800. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 5800 has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 7 5800 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 3 2200G. The Ryzen 7 5800 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2200G has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
