Ryzen 3 2200G vs Ryzen 7 2700X specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 2700X performs better than the Ryzen 3 2200G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 2200G in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 2700X has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 3 2200G that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 2200G. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 7 2700X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 2200G. Also, the Ryzen 7 2700X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 2200G CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 2700X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 7 2700X has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 2200G. The Ryzen 7 2700X also has significantly more L3 cache.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2200G has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
