Ryzen 3 2200G vs Ryzen 7 1800X specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 1800X beats the Ryzen 3 2200G in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 2200G in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 7 1800X has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 3 2200G. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 1800X has 8 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 3 2200G. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 2200G. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 1800X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 3 2200G. A Ryzen 3 2200G CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 1800X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 7 1800X has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 2200G. The Ryzen 7 1800X also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2200G has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
