Ryzen 3 2200G vs Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U is faster than the Ryzen 3 2200G. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 2200G has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 3 2200G has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U outputs less heat than Ryzen 3 2200G thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache and L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2200G has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
