Ryzen 3 2200G vs Ryzen 5 3500X specs and performance

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 5 3500X has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 3 2200G. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 3500X has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 3 2200G. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 2200G. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 3500X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 2200G. Also, the Ryzen 5 3500X has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 3500X has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 2200G. The Ryzen 5 3500X also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2200G has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
