Ryzen 3 2200G vs Ryzen 5 1600 comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 5 1600 is faster than the Ryzen 3 2200G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 2200G in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 5 1600 has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 3 2200G. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 1600 has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 3 2200G. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 2200G. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 2200G has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 5 1600. Also, the Ryzen 3 2200G has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 1600 has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 2200G. The Ryzen 5 1600 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2200G has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
