Ryzen 3 2200G vs Core i5-7600 comparison
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-7600 beats the Ryzen 3 2200G in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 2200G in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. In terms of clock speed, the Ryzen 3 2200G and Core i5-7600 are identical in this regard. Despite this, the Core i5-7600 has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 3 2200G has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-7600. Despite this, the Core i5-7600 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 2200G.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2200G has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
