Ryzen 3 2200G vs Core 7 150U specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core 7 150U beats the Ryzen 3 2200G in overall performance. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 2200G has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core 7 150U has significantly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Ryzen 3 2200G that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 2200G. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 2200G has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core 7 150U. Despite this, the Core 7 150U has a significantly higher turbo speed. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core 7 150U has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 2200G. The Core 7 150U also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2200G has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
