Ryzen 3 1300X vs Xeon Silver 4114 specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon Silver 4114 performs better than the Ryzen 3 1300X. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 1300X has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon Silver 4114 has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 3 1300X. Indeed, the Xeon Silver 4114 has 10 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 3 1300X. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 1300X. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 1300X has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon Silver 4114. Also, the Ryzen 3 1300X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 1300X CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon Silver 4114 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1300X has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
