Ryzen 3 1300X vs Xeon E5-2643 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-2643 beats the Ryzen 3 1300X in overall performance. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 1300X has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Xeon E5-2643 has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 1300X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-2643. Also, the Ryzen 3 1300X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 1300X CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2643 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1300X has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
