Ryzen 3 1300X vs Xeon E5-1650 v4 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-1650 v4 beats the Ryzen 3 1300X in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 1300X in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon E5-1650 v4 has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Ryzen 3 1300X that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 1300X. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon E5-1650 v4 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 1300X. Also, the Xeon E5-1650 v4 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 1300X CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-1650 v4 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1300X has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
