Ryzen 3 1300X vs Xeon E5-1620 v4 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-1620 v4 beats the Ryzen 3 1300X in overall performance. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 1300X has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Xeon E5-1620 v4 has more threads. According to our data, the Ryzen 3 1300X and Xeon E5-1620 v4 have the same clock speed. Despite this, the Xeon E5-1620 v4 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 1300X CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-1620 v4 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1300X has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
