Ryzen 3 1300X vs Ryzen 9 5900X comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 9 5900X is faster than the Ryzen 3 1300X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 1300X in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 9 5900X has significantly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Ryzen 3 1300X has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 1300X. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 9 5900X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 3 1300X. Also, the Ryzen 9 5900X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 1300X CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 9 5900X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 5900X has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 1300X. The Ryzen 9 5900X also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1300X has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
