Ryzen 3 1300X vs Core i9-8950HK benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 3 1300X performs better than the Core i9-8950HK. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i9-8950HK in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i9-8950HK has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Ryzen 3 1300X has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 1300X. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 3 1300X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i9-8950HK. Despite this, the Core i9-8950HK has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i9-8950HK outputs less heat than Ryzen 3 1300X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 3 1300X has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i9-8950HK. Despite this, the Core i9-8950HK has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 1300X.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1300X has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
